The Project

START UP BIO

START UP BIO project aims at supporting and facilitating transition and innovation processes of NEW rural enterprises, Start Ups in organic farming, accompanying them from the beginning. It also wants to support the conversion from the traditional production to the organic one. The project looks for young people interested in becoming organic farmers and entrepreneurs wanting to adopt organic agriculture. START UP BIO offers high quality online training opportunities and virtual incubation for new organic farmers.

Training courses in e-learning mode to provide initial skills for the application of the organic method on farms. The agricultural entrepreneur will learn the main regulations governing this sector in order to approach organic agronomic practices ranging from soil preparation/management to harvesting as well as knowing the different varieties for the choice, preparation and management of the agronomic plan of the farm.

A Incubadora Virtual Startup Bio funcionará como um centro de reuniões, onde será criada uma comunidade virtual de agricultores biológicos europeus. Aqui, os agricultores biológicos em formação poderão discutir ideias, solicitar conselhos e orientação e compartilhar experiências e conhecimentos

2. Apoio e assessoria na elaboração do plano de negócios da exploração/empresa biológica

Fornecendo as ferramentas e metodologias necessárias para criar um plano de negócios de sucesso, através da utilização do Modelo de Negócios Canvas

3. Apoio na identificação de terrenos agrícolas para a sua produção biológica

Dirigido a quem pretende construir o seu próprio negócio, este serviço irá proporcionar um aconselhamento de especialistas da área, no momento.

4. Suporte Legal e de Contabilidade de Impostos

Inclui conhecimento técnico sobre quais os requisitos legais que são necessários para entrar em mercados específicos.

5. Estratégias de Marketing e Canais de Distribuição/Vendas

Apoio na definição e desenvolvimento de estratégias de marketing e identificação dos canais de venda dos produtos.

6. Acesso a Financiamento na fase de iniciação e pré-lançamento do projeto

Através de apoio na preparação de apresentações (pitching) para atrair investidores.

7. Liderança (formação)

Os futuros agricultores serão orientados por profissionais e especialistas das organizações parceiras para definir e atingir metas desafiantes, tomar ações rápidas e decisivas quando necessário, superar a concorrência e inspirar outros a ter o melhor desempenho possível.

OUR SERVICES

1. Access to the organic farmer Community

The Startup Bio Virtual Incubator will function as a meeting Hub where a virtual community of European organic farmers will be created. Here it will be possible for trainee organic farmers to discuss, ask for advice, mentorship and share experience and expertise.

2. Support and advice in the elaboration of the organic farm business plan

Providing the necessary tools and methodologies to build a successful business plan using Business Model Canvas.

3. Support in the identification of agricultural land for their organic farm production

Addressed to those wishing to build their own new business, this service will provide them with advice and support from experts in the field, directly on site.

4. Legal and Tax Accounting support

This includes technical expertise in what legal requirements are necessary for entry into particular markets.

5. Marketing strategy and sales channels

Support to the definition and development of the marketing strategy and identification of product sales channels.

6. Access to financing in the pre-seed and start-up phase

Through support in the preparation of presentations (pitching) to attract investors.

7. Leadership (training)

Organic-farmers-to-be will be mentored by professionals and experts of the partner organizations to set and achieve challenging goals, take fast and decisive action when needed, outperform the competition, and inspire others to perform at the highest level they can.
